Homeschooling in Seminole County Florida

What are my legal responsibilities as a homeschool parent?

  1. Submit your notice of intent.

  2. Maintain your portfolio.

  3. If necessary, Make your portfolio "available for inspection by superintendent or the superintendent's agent, upon 15 days' written notice."

  4. Submit an annual evaluation.

One option for an annual evaluation is a Portfolio Assessment. I am a certified teacher since 1995. I started my teaching career student teaching in an Elementary School Special Education class. I taught Middle School and High School Math and Computer classes. In a homeschool coop I taught preschool through 3rd grade students. I have tutored Math and computers privately for 30 years. Most importantly, I homeschool my children.  My oldest two are now Dual Enrolled.    I would be happy to review your child's portfolio and certify that they made progress commensurate with their ability. Sarah Hornbeck

Sarah Hornbeck Flute Studio

Private flute lessons for students aged 10 to adult.
No previous musical training necessary.

Sarah Hornbeck began playing the flute in fifth grade band. She liked the flute because it was shiny and small. She quickly fell in love with its many other beautiful qualities – its singing sound, it’s diverse palette of tone colors, and the rich repertoire that has been written for it. She received her Bachelor of Music degree magna cum laude from Baldwin-Wallace Conservatory, studying with Cleveland Orchestra piccoloist, Mary Kay Fink, winning B-W’s 1996 concerto competition, and then her Master of Music with honors from the Longy School of Music where she studied with distinguished pedagogue, Robert Willoughby. Since completing her master’s degree, Sarah served as principal flute with the Melrose (MA) Symphony Orchestra and the currently the Saint Andrew’s Sinfonia. She has 25 years of teaching experience, including the Baldwin-Wallace Preparatory Department, Saint Andrew’s Conservatory, and her own private studio. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, running, mountain biking, and curling up with a good book and her dog.
To find our more about Sarah visit her webpage or the Saint Andrew's Conservatory website.
